SharePoint News Feed Webpart Instructions

Step 1:

  1. Insert the News Feed Web Part on into the page you would like the feature to be added to by clicking the Add a Web Part link.

  2. Navigate to the News Feed Web Part by choosing CMich > News Feed. Click "Add" and this will add it to the page.

  3. Click the carot in the upper-right of the Web Part. Then, click Edit Web Part.news-feed-instructions-1.png

  4. After you click Edit Web Part, scroll up to the upper-right of the page being editing. There, you will see the News Feed Web Part settings. Go down to Extended Settings and expand that out. This is where you will be adding Category and Tag snippets from Step 2 (below).

Step 2:

Click the categories and tags below to generate news feed snippet. Once all of your feeds are selected, copy the generated snippet and continue to Step 3.

Press Ctrl + C to copy the snippet and then press Ctrl + V to paste it into the Web Part.
Press Ctrl + C to copy the snippet and then press Ctrl + V to paste it into the Web Part.

Step 3:

Once the corresponding snippets are pasted into the Web Part under Extended Settings, click "OK".

Next, Save or Check-In the page to view the result of the snippet selection. If everything checks out - you are good to publish the page.
